Moe Rotondi as Gene Simmons

Moe Rotondi as Gene Simmons

The founder and backbone behind Destroyer, Moe has been playing his bass for over 18 years.

It all began when I caught the Midnight Special on tv – it was April 1st, 1975, and KISS appeared live. It was love at first site. Paul Lynd’s Halloween special was still over a year away at that point, but between the Midnight Special, the Halloween special and the awesome albums KISS were cranking out, I was totally hooked.

It wasn’t until I saw a KISS tribute band back in 90 that it all clicked for me. I knew I wanted to be part of KISStory, and knew I could do it better.. a bigger show, better costumes, real guitars – so that was it.. Kisstory in the making.

Destroyer wasn’t my first band however. The first attempt ended up with a cover band that I wasn’t really happy with. Again it came back to KISS, and the fact that all I wanted to play was KISS. So, the band parted ways and I started auditioning for a new KISS tribute band.

15 years later and I’m proud to claim the title of founder of the oldest (and best!) KISS tribute band around. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always been fun, and I’m looking forward to many more years with Destroyer, carrying on the KISS traditions of amazing shows, blood spitting, and a little fire breathing thrown in for good measure :)

I've seen and hired countless tribute acts, major recording bands, and local rock shows and the most current version of "Destroyer" is one of the best shows you will see in a local club or festival stage anywhere. This band is worth a $20 to $25 ticket but luckily you can see still them in most venues for $5 to $10. Great people to work with too.

We had Destroyer play a few years ago and they put on the best show you have ever seen, they had the act down pat! There's nothing like seeing the Demon, Starchild, Spaceman and Catman in the flesh even if it isn't them. They had the Stacks, Pyro and the Showmanship. You wanted the best you got the best.
